I was asked to create a series of illustrations as an artistic interpretation of Porsche’s campaign titled ‘No Small Dreams’, founded on inspiring Porsche’s audiences to pursue their own dreams. The illustrations were featured in Marvin magazine Issue 4 as the back cover and as an exclusive double-sided poster. The role allowed for the execution to be driven by art, and not solely advertising; creating something that someone might have as a keepsake. The illustrations were seen as murals around Brooklyn and San Francisco. And currently installed in the Christophorus Restaurant located at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany.
Project Type: Campaign
Territory: Worldwide
Year: 2022
This piece celebrates Porsche’s iconic design and its commitment to creative collaboration, aligning with the No Small Dreams initiative to showcase the limitless potential of design, fashion, and illustration. Featuring both the classic 911 (G-Series) and the modern 911 (Carrera), the work explores Porsche’s evolution, highlighted through a psychedelic racetrack scene where the Carrera pushes forward into the future while the classic models reference the brand’s rich legacy. Key design elements, like the rounded front headlamps reimagined as hummingbird eyes, and symbolic horses nod to Porsche’s logo, Stuttgart heritage, and even the Taycan’s name, which evokes the spirited soul of a young horse.
Macan is derived from the Javanese word for tiger, a fitting name to emphasise the core characteristics of this off-road car - “suppleness, power, and dynamics.” The models and tigers have been positioned in a layered energetic scene to highlight range, movement, and perspective, showcasing Porsche's dedication to innovation and quality.
Again, I hoped to build a surreal scene with the old and new both present. As seen in the first image below, the new Porsche Taycan is positioned in a contemporary setting while the illustration of the Lohner–Porsche Electromobile (the very first hybrid vehicle, developed by Ferdinand Porsche), is viewed from the perspective of a seated passenger in a vintage train.
The key focal element of the second image below is the electric motor and two speed gearbox, as the Taycan is Porsche’s first production ready all-electric sports car, truly marking a new beginning. The work can be seen as an abstract bird’s eye view of a dreamlike luxury estate, with an entrance and gate leading to the central household, which in this case is the innovative Taycan motor.
